Updated: Русский

The voxel sandbox is the largest ready game of the platform: a blocky world in first person, survival and creative modes, mining, crafting, mobs, three dimensions and co-op for up to 8 players. Worlds can be made from a picture and a description - right in the browser or with AI.

What is inside

  • Survival and creative modes: health, hunger, air, XP, death and respawn.
  • Mining and crafting: ores and tool tiers, crafting, smelting, armor, enchanting, the anvil, potions.
  • A living world: farming, animals, taming and riding, fishing, boats and minecarts, villages with traders and raids, dozens of mobs and bosses.
  • Three dimensions: the overworld with biomes, caves and structures, a fire dimension and a dimension with a dragon.
  • Mechanisms: wires, repeaters, pistons, hoppers, rails; weather, day and night, light and fluids.
  • Worlds from a picture and a description: the lobby's "Worlds" tab turns a picture and text into a world - in the browser or through in-app AI.
  • Your own character: made from pictures and a description, with animations, emotions and a third-person view.
  • Touch controls for phones and a quest book that doubles as the tutorial.

The idea is filled in for you: answer a couple of questions, and your own project on this template is ready.

Systems already connected

Besides the six systems of every project, the template brings its own:

SystemWhat it does in the gameWhere to set it up in the dashboard
MultiplayerCo-op for up to 8 players through the lobby roomsLive Operations → v2 → Multiplayer
WorkshopPlayers publish worlds, characters and item looksLive Operations → v2 → Workshop
In-game AIWorlds, characters and items from a pictureLive Operations → v2 → InApp AI

Step 01Create a project on the template

On the Create page describe a voxel game, for example: "A voxel sandbox: dig and build with blocks, and AI creates the world from a description". The platform picks this base. More in how to make a game with AI.

Step 02Make it your own

  • "Rename the blocks and items for a space theme".
  • "Make the starting world an island in the middle of the ocean".
  • "Add an NPC trader to the village".

Step 03Turn on the network and release

For co-op the title needs the Multiplayer section turned on (host mode). Check the game in the test version and release it - see publishing and links.

For developers

  • The game module is voxelcraft (Three.js); it brings the multiplayer and workshop systems through uses.
  • The network is P2P over WebRTC through ctx.multiplayer: each dimension is simulated by one player, and the world moves when the host leaves.
  • Worlds are built from a WorldSpec recipe; with AI, through the title feature voxel-world (client.ai).
  • Details are in the voxelcraft-worlds, voxelcraft-characters and voxelcraft-quests skills, served by the SDK MCP server.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a server for co-op?

No. Players connect to each other over WebRTC through the lobby rooms, up to 8 of them; when the host leaves, the world moves to another player without stopping.

Can a world be made without AI?

Yes. A world from a picture and a description is built right in the browser without AI; with in-app AI it comes out more precise.

Can I rename the blocks and items?

Yes. Every name the player sees lives in one table, so the game is easy to make your own.
