The video studio: an app for short viral videos
The iDos Games video studio template - players make short vertical videos with voice-over, word-by-word captions and music from ready characters and scenes or from AI assets, remix each other's videos and compete in a weekly challenge.
The video studio is an app where players make short vertical videos: talking characters, voice-over, word-by-word captions and music. A video is data, not a file: the app plays it, the player changes any line or shot, and the MP4 is saved on the device. Other players remix it in one tap.
What is inside
- Five formats: a dialogue of two, a story with a narrator, a top-5, a quiz and a "what if".
- Two ways to make a video: "quick" uses only the ready library and costs nothing, "unique" lets the AI director write the video from an idea and make the characters, scenes and music the idea needs.
- Ready characters and scenes: voxel people and animals, 2D heroes with their whole wardrobe and six ready videos to start from.
- The editor: slots (characters, voices, scene, music, captions, lines with emotions and actions) and tracks (camera, effects, sounds and particles at any moment of the video).
- Voice-over and captions: a draft voice for the preview and the final voice for the export; captions light up word by word.
- Export on the device: MP4 720p with a watermark, 1080p without it for VIP.
- Remixes through the workshop: publish, like and remix videos, plus a weekly challenge leaderboard, quests, VIP and a store of the studio's currency.
Step 01Create the app
On the Create page describe a video app or pick the video studio. The app gets the studio's currency, AI features with prices, workshop types, quests, VIP and the weekly challenge right away. More in how to make a game with AI.
Step 02Set prices and the look
The prices of the AI steps are the app's AI features - change them in the dashboard. Ask the AI coder for the rest: "Add a pirate ship scene to the library" or "Make the captions yellow".

video-studio. Characters come from the@idosgames/characterspackage, the video engine (the VideoSpec format, formats, captions, the stage and MP4 export) from@idosgames/timeline. - An agent can write videos for the app over MCP:

Frequently asked questions
Do players pay to make a video?
No. Ready characters, scenes and the six ready videos are free. Only the AI steps cost the studio's currency - the director, the final voice and AI assets - and the price is shown before every step.
Where is the video rendered?
On the player's device. A video is data, the app draws it frame by frame and saves an MP4 - no server renders anything.
