Boosts in your game: x2 rewards and happy hours
How ready-made iDos Games boosts work - temporary multipliers for rewards and costs, personal or for everyone on a schedule - and how to set them up in the dashboard.
Boosts are temporary multipliers: x2 to rewards, +50% to quest rewards, a discount on costs, for a time or a number of uses. The server applies every boost by itself; the screen shows what is running and what can be turned on.
What the player sees
- "Active now": the player's own boosts with their timers or uses left.
- Global windows marked "for everyone": a scheduled happy hour or a phase of a boost chain.
- Every boost of the title with its effect, duration and uses, turned on for free or for currency.
How it works
- A boost changes rewards or costs: of everything, of quests, of the board game or of purchases.
- A personal boost runs for a time or a number of uses; a global window runs for every player on a schedule.
- Boosts work together with VIP bonuses: the server applies both.
Step 01Add the system to your project
Ask the AI coder: "Add boosts". It installs the ready system with a free welcome boost and a paid double-rewards boost.
Step 02Set it up in the dashboard
Open the dashboard, pick your project and go to Live Operations → v2 → Timed Boost.
- Create a boost: what it multiplies, by how much, for how long or how many uses.
- Set its price: free, currency or items.
- For a happy hour, create a global window with a schedule.
The AI button on the page opens an assistant: describe what you need, it proposes changes, and you review them and press Save.
Step 03Test and release
Check the system in the test version of your app. Settings go to the live app as a separate action - see publishing and links.
For developers
Boosts work through client.timedBoost in @idosgames/core. The game does not multiply anything itself.
// Activate a boost (free or with a price option) and read the running ones
const res = await client.timedBoost.activate('double_rewards', { selectedOptionID: 'gems' })
if (!res.ok) return showError(res.error)
const active = await client.timedBoost.getActive()- Rewards in the responses already include the boost: show the granted amount, not a recomputed one.
- Global windows come from
getActiveWindows().
Every field is described in the timed-boost-system skill, served by the SDK MCP server.
Frequently asked questions
Can a boost be given as a reward?
Yes. A boost is part of the title economy, so it can be a reward of a quest, an event or a chest.
Do boosts stack with VIP?
Yes. The server applies both the boost and the premium bonus in the same reward.
