AI video generator: video from text or a photo
How to use an AI video generator: text to video, photo to video with a first and last frame, viral templates, upscaling, how to describe a shot and the cost.
Video transcript
An AI video generator makes a short clip from a description or from a photo.
Describe one shot: what is in the frame, what happens, where, and how the camera moves.
A few minutes later, the clip is ready.
Or start from a template: add a photo, and it comes to life, dances or flies away.
Video is part of the paid plans, and the price is on the button before you start.
How to describe a shot so it works on the first try is in the full guide on idosgames.com.
An AI video generator makes a short video from a text description or from a photo, and on iDos Games it works in the browser: open Video, describe the shot or upload a picture, press Create, and in a few minutes the video is ready to download. Video is part of the paid plans; the price is on the button before you start.
There are two ways to start: Text to video, where the shot is made from words alone, and Photo to video, where your picture comes to life. Templates do viral formats in one tap: a dance, a hug, a zoom from space, confetti or an old photo that starts to move. The rest of this guide is about getting a shot you want on the first or second try, because every video costs more than a picture.
Make a video with AIDescribe it in words and get the result right in the browser.Try itWhat the AI video generator can do
- Text to video: a shot from your description.
- Photo to video: your picture starts to move, with an optional first and last frame.
- Upscale video: a short or blurry clip becomes sharper.
- Edit video: change what is in a clip by your description.
- Templates: Talking photo, Bring photo to life, Dance, Hug, Fly away, Confetti party, Cartoon transform, Zoom from space, Superhero, Old photo comes alive, Color explosion, Product spin and Logo reveal.
Step 01Describe the shot, not the story
A video model makes one shot of a few seconds. Describe it like a camera operator would:
- Who or what is in the frame and what happens: "a red sports car drifts around a corner".
- Where and when: "a wet neon street at night".
- The camera: "low angle, slow tracking shot".
- The style: "cinematic", "anime", "clay animation".
One action per shot works better than three. For a longer story make several shots and join them. A full prompt might read: "a red sports car drifts around a corner on a wet neon street at night, low angle, slow tracking shot, cinematic".
Step 02Start from a photo for control
When the look matters (a character, a product, a logo), start from a picture: the video keeps it. With a first and a last frame you set both ends of the shot and the model fills the motion in between. A picture for the first frame can come from the image generator, so you can design the character there and then bring it to life here.
Step 03Pick the mode and check the price
Modes trade price for quality and length. Under Other models you can pick a model by name. The price is on the Create button before you start, and video takes a few minutes: you can close the page and find the result in My generations.
Make the first try short and in a cheaper mode. When the motion is right, repeat it in the better mode or upscale the clip you already like.
Step 04Finish the video
- Upscale video makes a short or blurry clip sharper.
- Edit video changes what is in the clip by your description.
- Sound for the clip comes from Audio: background music, a soundtrack for a reel, sound effects or a voice-over.
Ready templates
Add a photo and press Create: the motion, the style and the length are set in the template. Talking photo makes a portrait speak, Product spin turns a product photo into a showcase clip, and Logo reveal animates a logo for an intro. Use a photo of a person only if it is you or someone who agreed to it.
Ideas for short AI videos
- A reel for social media: a template such as Dance or Zoom from space on your photo, plus a soundtrack for a reel from the audio page.
- A product clip: Product spin on a clean product photo; remove the background first in the image studio.
- A game trailer shot: design the hero as a picture, then bring it to life with Photo to video and a last frame where the hero strikes a pose.
- An intro for a channel: Logo reveal on your logo, a few seconds long.
Short and simple ideas work best, at least at first: video models are strongest at one clear motion in one place.
What a video costs and which plan you need
Video is not part of the Free plan: the page says so and offers to change the plan. On a paid plan a video uses the AI credits of the plan first, then your Aspis. The price depends on the mode, the model and the length and is shown on the Create button before you start. On Free you can still make pictures, voice and music in the same studio.
Videos inside your own app
The video page on the site is for you. A game or an app on iDos Games can let its own players make clips too, as in-app AI: you set what the feature makes and the price for players.
"A fox knight in golden armor, cartoon style"
Mistakes to avoid
- A whole story in one prompt. One shot, one action. Join several shots for a story.
- No camera in the prompt. "Slow tracking shot" or "close-up" changes the result more than extra adjectives.
- Text to video when the look matters. Start from a photo to keep a face, a product or a logo.
- The best mode for the first try. Test the motion cheaply first.
